New Drive for Flying Shear
At the beginning of the month of March 2018, a new drive specification for flying shear was presented at an important rolling mill in Brazil. The existing flying shear will have their position modified for an application where the speed of the cut bar is 4 times smaller than the previous one. This will require a higher torque to compensate the kinetic energy loss of the masses. The new drive was specified with motor and gear-box. This is the number 28 flying shears calculated by Copar.

Rolling Process, Rolling Quality - Defects and Roll Pass Design for Long Products Courses
During the period from January 29 to February 3, 2018, 3 trainings were carried out in a steel company in North America. The trainings were Rolling Process, Rolling Quality, and Roll Pass Design. 22 rolling professionals participated. Copar has already presented 248 rolling courses.
